When your PS5 says "no signal," your Xbox won't read discs or your Switch screen is cracked, you don't have to buy a new system. TechSpot in Van Buren repairs PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles every week, and we build, upgrade and repair custom gaming PCs too. Because we do board-level microsoldering in house, we can take on console problems that a lot of shops send away.

Quality.
Expertise.

The HDMI port is the most common console repair we see. A tug on the cable or a fall off the TV stand can bend the pins or crack the port.
Signs of a bad HDMI port:
First, try a different HDMI cable and TV input. If the problem follows the console, it's likely the port.
The HDMI port is soldered directly to the console's main board. We open the console, remove the damaged port with board-level microsoldering tools, clean the pads, solder in a new port. Then we reassemble it and test video and audio output before you pick it up. If the damage goes beyond the port, we'll explain before doing more. HDMI port repairs are often done same day, because we keep common console HDMI ports on hand.
If your Xbox won't read discs, your PS5 disc drive keeps ejecting, or your PS4 makes a grinding or clicking noise when you put a game in, the disc drive is usually the problem.
We check the drive, the laser and the mechanism, then repair or replace what's needed and test it with real discs before you pick it up.
A PS4 with a loud fan that sounds like a jet engine, a PS5 that shuts off mid-game, or an Xbox that runs hot to the touch is often clogged with dust, or the thermal paste on the processor has dried out.
Our overheating service includes opening the console, cleaning dust out of the fan, heat sink and vents, replacing the old thermal paste (or liquid metal where the console uses it), and checking that the fan is spinning properly. If the fan itself is worn out, we can replace it.
A cracked Switch screen, a display with lines or dead spots, or touch that stops working in places can all be repaired. We work on the original Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED. We replace the damaged glass or display, then test the screen, touch and docking before you pick it up.
If your console won't turn on, beeps and shuts off, shows a blue light of death, or turns on with no picture after the HDMI port checks out, the fault is often on the main board or in the power supply. This is where our microsoldering and board-level repair work comes in.
Power and no-boot problems start with a console diagnostic, which carries a bench fee that goes toward the repair. We trace the fault, explain what failed in plain English, and give you a quote before any repair work begins. Board-level repairs can't always be completed, and we'll tell you honestly what we find.
Looking for a gaming PC build in Fort Smith or Van Buren? We build custom gaming PCs around your games, your budget and the look you want. Bring your own parts or have us source the components, and we'll assemble, set up and test it.
We also upgrade and repair gaming PCs you already own:
Call or stop by to talk through a build or an upgrade. For laptops and everyday computers, see our laptop and computer repair page.
HDMI port repairs and overheating service are often done same day. Disc drive, Switch screen and power repairs depend on the problem and whether parts need to be ordered, and PC builds depend on parts arriving. We'll give you a timeline at drop-off and keep you updated by text.
Repairs come with our 180-day warranty on the parts we install and our workmanship, such as a new HDMI port, disc drive part, fan or Switch screen. Motherboard or main board failures aren't covered, so board-level power and no-boot repairs don't carry the warranty, and neither do liquid damage cleaning or data recovery. See the full warranty terms.

Often, yes, especially if the console powers on and the problem continues with a different cable and TV input. Bring it in and we'll confirm.
How long does a console HDMI port repair take?
HDMI port repairs are often done same day, since we keep common console HDMI ports in stock.
My Xbox won't read discs. Can you fix it?
Yes. We repair disc drives on Xbox, PlayStation and other disc consoles. We'll check the drive and let you know what your model needs before starting.
My PS4 fan is really loud. Do I need a repair?
A loud fan usually means dust buildup or dried-out thermal paste. Our overheating service cleans the console and replaces the thermal paste, which often quiets it down.
Can you fix a cracked Nintendo Switch screen?
Yes. We repair screens on the original Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED. Bring it in so we can look at your model.
My console won't turn on. What happens next?
Power and no-boot problems start with a console diagnostic, which carries a bench fee that goes toward the repair. We'll explain what we find and quote before any work begins.
Do you build custom gaming PCs?
Yes. We build custom gaming PCs with your parts or parts we source, and we upgrade and repair gaming PCs too.
Is the repair under warranty?
Repairs come with a 180-day warranty on the parts we install and our workmanship. Motherboard or main board failures aren't covered, so board-level power repairs don't carry the warranty. Full terms are on our terms page.
